1. On March 2, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah signed the bilateral Agreement on the Mutual Waiver of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic and Official/Special Passports in the presence of the heads of state of the Republic of Korea and Kuwait.
2. The agreement allows the nationals of the two countries with valid diplomatic and official/special passports to stay in each other’s countries without visa for up to 90 days.
◦ The total period of stay shall not exceed 90 days within each period of 180 days.
* The agreement will take effect on the day when both countries receive written notifications from each other on their completion of respective domestic procedures.
3. The agreement, when brought into effect, is expected to help promote people-to-people exchanges between the governments of the ROK and Kuwait, thereby strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
