1. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Serbia Lee Do-hoon and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia Zorana Mihajlovic formally signed the Agreement for Air Services between the Government of the ROK and the Government of the Republic of Serbia at Serbia’s government office building on February 24, local time.
2. In a bid to establish institutional bases for cooperation in air services between the ROK and Serbia, the two countries began air services negotiations in November 2014, initialed a draft agreement for air services, and reached an agreement on three flights per week between the two countries, and code-share.
o Currently, there are no direct flights between the ROK and Serbia, but after the Agreement for Air Services, signed by the two countries, takes effect, passengers will be able to book flights and go through necessary procedures more conveniently, including through code-share.
3. The formally signed ROK-Serbia Agreement for Air Services is expected to provide Korean airlines with a good opportunity to increase their presence in the East European air services market, as well as to help expand people-to-people and material exchanges between the two countries in a range of areas, including not only air services but also trade, investment and tourism.
