I am pleased to greet all of you through our Consulate General website.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle has the jurisdiction of five Northwest Central states in the United States: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska, where more than 180,000 overseas Koreans are actively engaged in various fields.

As they settled here for various purposes such as immigration, business, and studying abroad, 1.5 and 2nd generations are standing out in specialized fields such as education, law, and medical care and have also entered public election positions.

In addition to the popularity of the movie "Sleepless in Seattle," Seattle is famous for being home to world-leading companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Costco, Starbucks, and Boeing. As a result, many Koreans and Korean-Americans are engaging and working in these new industries.

Since the Northwest is relatively close to Korea, it has actively contributed to the interpersonal transaction and international trade between Korea and the United States. Therefore, it is expected to continuously play an essential role in cooperation between Korea and the United States.

The Consulate is committed to improving Koreans' rights and interests living overseas by communicating and engaging with an open mind. Furthermore, the Consulate will continue to make its utmost effort to ensure Korean citizens' safety and improve the consular services living in our jurisdiction under this unprecedented global pandemic.
